New KC Wizards Logos with 2008 Colors

I was making a logo for an indoor soccer team I play on just for fun and decided to adjust it to be a Wizards logo. You can see the result above and variations below/inside. The first uses only the two blues, yellow and blue which appear to be the 2008 color scheme and no black (This is assumed by looking at season ticket ads).

This has a moon, I have not been able to come up with many Wizard themes that are not a Wizard and I’ve not been able to make or find a wizard that is worthy of being on a logo. The more I’ve messed around with logos for the Wizards name the more I think they are going to re-brand the team all together.

The only difference here is the outline of the lettering and the crest are black not blue.

If you want to take these and make variations which are better feel free to.

Also if you are interested in making your own to share with the world, but don’t own and can’t afford Photoshop there are two free programs that can do much of the same stuff. Each with link below.

GIMP - This is aparently the more powerful of the two, but a bit more difficult to figure out. Check out the Wikipedia page and the official page if you are interested.

Paint.net -This one feels a lot like Photoshop, I have not found a way to edit text after making it the first time though. Any way check out the wikipedia page or the official page if you are interested.

    Re: freeware image editors - If you’re looking for more of a Photoshop feel, you might want to try out GIMPshop. (http://www.gimpshop.com/) It’s the GIMP, but with the UI hacked to closely resemble Photoshop.

    As for the logos - these seem too simple to me. I’d personally prefer a logo that says Kansas City Wizards without actually saying “Kansas City Wizards” on the badge.

    I agree 100% when you said “I have not been able to come up with many Wizard themes that are not a Wizard and I’ve not been able to make or find a wizard that is worthy of being on a logo.” I’m usually in the “keep the name” camp, but it doesn’t help with branding/logo design.

    The more I look at the first logo the more I like it. I really hate the lightning by itself, but the logo is clean and the yellow looks good when it is still a minority color. I’ve had it has my desktop back ground since it was posted which is at least a fun change from the real logo.
